Yatsenyuk: Russia must agree to the terms and conditions of debt restructuring


Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that if Russia does not take offered by Kiev of conditions of debt restructuring for 3 billion dollars, she gets nothing.

KIEV, 17 sen. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Kiev does not intend to give Russia the best conditions of the restructuring of its debt to 3 billion dollars, therefore the Russian Federation should agree to the General conditions.

On Thursday the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider a package of bills needed to start the legal mechanism for restructuring the debt.

“The Russian Federation refused to participate in the creditors’ Committee and not agreed to the restructuring agreement, she wants to repay the entire debt. I want to reiterate that the best conditions will not be — or accept these conditions, or better conditions of the Russian Federation will not receive”, — said Yatsenyuk at the meeting of Parliament on Thursday.

Previously Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine has agreed with creditors on debt restructuring, in particular the transfer of 20% of debt. In his words, Russia, which is not included in the creditors ‘ Committee of Ukraine, will not receive the best terms on the loan, than those that agreed other creditors.

The Ukrainian government later approved the preliminary terms of the restructuring of public debt, including its perimeter and Russia redeemed Eurobonds for $ 3 billion, which in Kiev is considered commercial and not state credit.

The Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov declared that Russia will demand full repayment of Ukraine’s Eurobonds in December of the current year. According to him, Russia considers itself to official creditors, the settlement of the debt with official creditors, with the States considered separately.
