Estonian lawmakers on October 13-15 intend to come to Moscow

MOSCOW, October 8. The delegation of the Riigikogu (Parliament) of Estonia is expected from 13 to 15 October will visit Moscow and hold talks with his counterparts from the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

About it journalists were reported by the coordinator of the Deputy group for relations with the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia, the Deputy Chairman of the house Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Tatiana Moskalkova.

“A visit to the Duma at the invitation of the Russian side should come, the parliamentarians of Estonia,” confirmed Moskalkova.

According to her, “the main talks are scheduled via the parliamentary group “Friendship” and will address the issues of restoration of mutual dialogue”. The last such contacts, reminded the Deputy, were in 2012.

Moskalkova said that the main issue will be the discussion of the Russian-Estonian Treaty on the border. In this process, she said, “Russia is a step forward”, as the Treaty already under consideration in the state Duma. In Estonia, after the last parliamentary elections and the change of the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers will have to start all over again. “I hope that after all of the procedures in Estonia we managed to get on the synchronous ratification of the Treaty,” he said.

In addition, continued Moskalkova, will discuss other aspects of bilateral cooperation, including economic considerations – in particular, the problems of elimination of double taxation. “We hope that our contacts will promote recovery in the future a high level of trade between Russia and Estonia. This is, primarily, to serve the interests of our peoples”, – the Deputy noted. At the same time it is planned to address humanitarian issues, including cross-days of Russia in Estonia and Estonia to Russia.

According to him, this is the first in the last 2.5 years of the inter-parliamentary contact at such a high level. “The meeting was organized by mutual initiative, expressed at the beginning of may,” said Gryazin. He noted how the importance of personal contact parliamentarians, which was not for several years, and “the need to determine common ground” on key issues. “We have to understand the politics of each other. It is important to work towards the restoration of a trusting relationship. A conflict situation is not eternal”, – said the Estonian politician.
