MOSCOW, October 8. The Ministers of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the USA Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry discussed by telephone the situation in Syria in light of the fight against ISIS and Ukrainian themes. As have informed in the Russian foreign Ministry, the conversation was initiated by the American side.
“In accordance with the instruction of presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama following their meeting on the sidelines of a session of the UN General Assembly the foreign Ministers continued the discussion of ways of settlement the situation in Syria, including the angle necessary to avoid incidents over the airspace of ATS coordination in the fight against “Islamic state” and other terrorist groups, promotion of political settlement in Syria in accordance with the Geneva communiqué of 30 June 2012″, – is informed in depodesta.
“We also considered the progress of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine on February 12, taking into account the outcome of the summit in the Normandy format in Paris on 2 October, as well as some issues of Russian-American agenda”, – said the Ministry.
