Law enforcement bodies of Germany have raided the headquarters of Volkswagen

Law enforcement agencies of Germany in connection with the “diesel scandal” held on Thursday searched the headquarters of Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and in the company’s offices in other cities. This is stated in the statement of the Prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig.

The aim of investigations was to seize documents and information carriers that can shed light on the scandal and to identify persons who are liable in connection with the violations noted in instances.

Volkswagen was at the center of a scandal after the discovery in the car group software that allows you to bypass strict ecological standards of the USA. The investigation into the auto giant launched in several countries in Europe and Asia.

As noted in the press release Volkswagen, the problem of falsifying data environmental tests on the content of harmful substances of exhaust gases of cars affected up to 11 million cars worldwide.
