The Deputy foreign Minister Bogdanov discussed in the French foreign Ministry to coordinate efforts in the fight against IG

MOSCOW, October 8. Coordination of efforts to combat terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG) discussed the special envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov with the diplomatic Counsellor of French President Jacques Tiberon and political Director of the French foreign Ministry Nicolas de Riviere. This was reported in the Russian depodesta on the results held in Paris consultations.

“Frank has held a detailed exchange of views on current middle East political and military situation with emphasis on the situation in and around Syria and also in Lebanon and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, – have informed in the Russian foreign Ministry. Especially subject was discussed the task of coordinating diverse efforts for an effective response posed by ISIS and other radical groups to the terrorist threat to the entire international community”.

As said in the Ministry, it was noted that “counter-terrorism activities should go in parallel with the consolidated active work on the promotion of a political settlement of the Syrian crisis through the Geneva communiqué of 30 June 2012 with an eye to their future socio-economic recovery of Syria.”

“The consultation confirmed the relevance of continuing a regular political dialogue between Moscow and Paris on the key aspects of the middle East situation”, – concluded the Russian foreign Ministry.
