Diplomatic sources: the words of the U.S. on the dialogue between Moscow and Tokyo on peace Treaty “substitute” Japan

MOSCOW, October 9. The statements of the USA about “untimeliness” of the dialogue between Moscow and Tokyo on peace Treaty “set up” Japan. This was stated by a diplomatic source in Moscow.

“Commenting on the “timeliness” of Russian-Japanese negotiations on the peace Treaty, spokesman of the state Department John Kirby, perhaps inadvertently, but still “substitutes” Japanese colleagues, – said the Agency interlocutor. – If Washington believes it is possible to dictate to Japan how and when to conduct a dialogue with its closest neighbour in one of the most sensitive issues, according to the plans Tokyo for permanent membership in the UN security Council to apply crushing blow”.

“In the case of expansion SAT there needs to be new independent players, and not dependent on other people’s opinions actors,” added the diplomatic sources.

Earlier the Russian foreign Ministry reported on the results of the consultations in Moscow that Russia and Japan have agreed to continue contacts on the issue of concluding a peace Treaty.

The representative of state Department of the USA John Kirby in response to a request to comment on Russian-Japanese negotiations, in turn, said: “We continue to believe that, generally speaking, now is not the time to engage with Russia in a business-as-usual. Over Ukraine”.
