Pushkov: the United States has effectively abandoned the policy of isolation against Russia

MOSCOW, October 9. The US has effectively abandoned the policy of isolation against Russia. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei Pushkov at the meeting of the working group on the legal analysis of legislative procedures and accepted in Ukraine, legal acts.

“The moment that plays against Ukraine, is a crisis of the policy of isolation. De facto, the United States abandoned the policy of isolation”, – said Pushkov.

In his view, this is confirmed by the meeting of presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama in new York, and the resumption of active dialogue between the foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry, and contacts between the defense ministries of the two countries Russia and the USA. “De facto, this means that the policy of isolation remained a verbal formula which have to adhere to U.S. to be consistent but not realizable in practice”, – said the head of the Committee.

In his opinion, such a policy of the American leadership “is already having an impact on Europeans”. Pushkov reminded about the statement of the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker about the need to restore dialogue with Russia. “I think this reflects a major shift in the attitudes of the European political elite”, – concluded the head of the Committee.

The day before, speaking in Germany, Juncker called for the improvement of the EU’s relations with Russia. “We must make an effort to keep relations with Russia on a pragmatic basis, – quotes its words Reuters. – It is not fashionable, but it should be”. “We cannot continue in the same spirit as (it is) now”, – said Juncker.

“The Kiev regime is the child of tension between the West and Russia”

The current Ukrainian authorities are not interested in renewing the dialogue between Russia and the European Union, since the emergence of the Kiev regime was, in fact, the consequence of tensions in relations between Russia and the EU, said Alexei Pushkov. “For the Kiev regime a gradual normalization of relations between Russia and the European Union – like death. It understands (President of Ukraine Peter) Poroshenko”, – he said.

The expression propagation, “the Kiev regime is the child of tension between the West and Russia”. “And this child will certainly try to spoil the political atmosphere on the European continent, to require the preservation (anti-Russian) sanctions,” – said the head of the Committee.

For its part, state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin expressed the view that the topic of the Ukrainian crisis is really starting to annoy Europe. He cited the example of the discussion two weeks ago at the session of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly in Mongolia. “To this topic – Ukraine crisis – no one wanted to go back, except, of course, one person, representative of Ukraine,” Naryshkin said. “But he thus to me for some attention to attract failed. It was easy to understand that they are already starting to deeply bother – I have these feelings happened,” he said.

Forecast propagation, in the near future Russia in the global space “is waiting for a complex intertwining of two trends,” one of which is the tendency to reduce tension and conflict in relations, the result may be a revision of the sanctions, and the second is “keeping pressure on Russia.” “In this trend, invested large political means. Many people have relied on it in his career,” he said.
