Siluanov: Russia will turn to court if Ukraine fails to pay its debt in December

MOSCOW, October 9. Russia intends to seek the implementation by Ukraine of its debt obligations, if necessary in court. On Friday on air of TV channel “Russia 24” stated the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.

“If the Ukrainian side does not pay us the debt, it will default, in fact, of Ukraine. We will go to court in the way specified condition order the placement of Eurobonds, which Ukraine is placed and in which we have invested public funds. Therefore, we will seek opportunities for Ukraine’s fulfillment of its obligations at the end of this year,” he said.

Earlier Siluanov spoke categorically against debt restructuring Ukraine. “We believe that sovereign debts must be paid in full at the appropriate time. Three billion dollars that we have invested from the funds of the national welfare Fund, must be returned to Russia at the end of the current year”, – he stressed.

According to him, the funds necessary for the implementation of infrastructure projects, “Especially now, when Russian companies’ access to international financial markets is limited,” said he.
