The balance surplus of the Russian Federation increased by 13%, the trade balance fell by 22%


According to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in January-September of 2015, the surplus of the current account of the balance of payments was formed in the amount of 49.9 billion dollars.

MOSCOW, 9 Oct. The positive balance of the current account of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in January-September, according to preliminary data, increased by 13.2% compared with the same period of 2014 to 49.9 billion dollars, according to the materials of the CBR.

The surplus in the trade balance, on the contrary, for the nine months decreased by 21.7% to 115,5 billion.

“According to preliminary estimates of the Bank of Russia, in January-September of 2015, the surplus of the current account of the balance of payments was formed in the amount of 49.9 billion dollars… mainly due to the significant contraction in the trade balance driven by a fall in energy prices against the background of reduction of deficit in services and investment income,” — notes the regulator.
