The BRICS stands ready to assist vulnerable populations


In the joint Declaration of the participating countries of the BRICS reflects the aspiration to sustainable development of agriculture and the achievement of global food security, according to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.

MOSCOW, 9 Oct. Participating countries are BRICS ready to help vulnerable populations and are eager to expand the volume of mutual trade and investment should, according to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation, adopted the joint Declaration.

Fifth meeting of Ministers of agriculture and agrarian development of BRICS countries took place on Friday in Moscow. Following the meeting adopted a joint Declaration.

“The Declaration reaffirmed the commitment to the provision of food assistance to the most vulnerable population, reduction of negative impact of climate change on food security, expansion of volumes of mutual trade and investment, underlined the need of exchange of agricultural technology and innovation and current market information, and reflects the aspiration to sustainable development of agriculture and the achievement of global food security”, — stated in the message of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In his speech the head of the Ministry of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev noted that following the logic of the partnership, “we will be able to deal effectively with the problems faced by BRICS countries, and to have a significant positive impact on the development of world agriculture”.
