Medical University in Japan has equipped a training center equipment from Russia

TOKYO, 7 Oct. Ksenia Naka. Juntendo was one of the oldest medical universities in Japan has equipped its “Simulation technology center” equipment, manufactured in Russia, said the head of the Department of medicine, head of medical research Hajime Arai.

“Today the centre is equipped with simulation equipment (where student surgeons can practice different types of operations — ed.) in endovascular, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations. Now five of them, to the end of the year we plan to equip the centre, another seven similar machines,” said Arai.

The heads of Department explained that the Russian equipment was chosen because “not only allows you to train medical skills, but also because the development of software and training based on a common understanding of the importance of improving the quality of treatment and level of patient safety”.

Russian robots, simulating the patient, produced by the Kazan company “Eidos-Medicine”. They serve as trainers for practicing preparation of the patient for anesthesia, surgery, withdrawal from anesthesia and implementing post-operative resuscitation.

On Wednesday the University held a solemn ceremony of opening of the center. Only in this academic year there will be held trainings for 1620 students, aspiring doctors and nurses. Next year the centre will train staff and six affiliated hospitals of juntendo was just over 3.1 thousand people. The University intends to continue cooperation with Kazan University and the Japanese research Institute RIKEN on the development of software for simulation equipment and training.
