MOSCOW, 28 September. The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin on Monday opened traffic on the new viaduct, built on the Volokolamsk highway in the area of metro station “Tushinskaya”. At a planned construction period of 20 months, the flyover was built for nine.
“We continue to improve the traffic situation on the roads of the city. Now there is a reconstruction of Volokolamke. The flyover construction is a part of the reconstruction of outbound motorways Volokolamsk highway.

The reconstruction will allow to separate the flows of traffic on Volokolamskoye highway and the adjacent road network to organize transit traffic movement on this stretch of highway and improve transport accessibility of areas of Moscow Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, South Tushino and Shchukino. According to calculations, the capacity of a given area of the Volokolamsk highway will increase by 20-25%. In addition, currently under reconstruction Volokolamskaya overpass above the tracks of the Small ring of the Moscow railway.
