CP Group plans to expand its presence in Russia. According to the representative of the company, the largest conglomerate of Thailand is exploring potential sites for the possible implementation of projects on the organization of agricultural production and processing.

The largest Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) plans to expand its presence in Russia, is considering the investment of Krasnodar region for organization of agricultural production and processing, have informed on Sunday a press-service of the Governor of the region.
On Sunday, the head of Kuban, a large agricultural region of Russia, Veniamin Kondratiev has held in Sochi meeting with representatives of the CP Group.
During the meeting, chief Executive officer of the company Supakit Chearavanont reported that CP Group “plans to expand its presence in Russia, and is currently conducting a preliminary assessment of potential sites for the possible implementation of projects on the organization of agricultural production and processing in the country”, noted in the release.
“We have a number of projects in Russia, but in Krasnodar territory yet, although this area seems to us very attractive,” given in the message words of Supakit Chiavenna.
Shareholder of the Thai company stressed that Russia is the strategic point investors, “creating space, it opens prospects for entering the markets of China and India”.
During the meeting the parties discussed possible areas of cooperation. Among the projects that the company could implement in the region, — pig-breeding complexes, including the processes of deep processing, mixed fodder production, construction of plant pectin and the establishment of enterprises manufacturing equipment for the food industry.
CP Group was founded in 1921 and is currently the largest private company in the Kingdom of Thailand and the largest conglomerate in the Asia-Pacific region. The main assets are concentrated in the CP Group agro-industrial and food sector, marketing and distribution, as well as in the telecommunications industry. The group unites more than 200 companies in 17 countries. Currently, CP Group has several pig farms in the Moscow, Kaluga, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod regions and produces feed for all livestock.
