The Minister for trade of the Eurasian economic Commission Andrei Slepnev said that the idea of creating a free trade zone with Turkey was not considered.
MOSCOW, 12 Oct. The Eurasian economic Commission (EEC) did not negotiate with Turkey about creating with the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) free trade zone, told journalists the Minister of trade of the ECE Andrei Slepnev.
“No,” he replied to the question, were there any negotiations with Turkey on creating a free trade area.
“In Turkey we did not have initiatives,” — said the EEC Minister.
Relations between Russia and Turkey worsened after the incident at the beginning of October. The defense Ministry reported that on 3 October the Russian su-30 made a short-lived, for a few seconds, entering the Turkish airspace as a result of adverse weather conditions. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said earlier that the incident will not cause tension in relations between countries.
However, on Thursday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country due to the worsening of relations with Russia because of afianzamiento may reconsider the issue of Russian gas supplies and construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under the Russian project.
