Yesterday Russian President held talks with the Prince of Abu Dhabi and head of the defense Ministry of Saudi Arabia. Assistant to the President Yuri Ushakov said that Russia has clarified its position on Syria.
MOSCOW, 12 Oct. Negotiations of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Prince of Abu Dhabi and head of the defense Ministry of Saudi Arabia have been positive, Russia clarified its stance on Syria and gain insight, said Friday the Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
“We appreciate these meetings very positively”, — said Ushakov reporters.
On specifying question, whether it is possible to say that the result of these meetings is to find consensus on the Syrian subject, he said, “Yes, and as partners, we do not hide, there were some issues, we very thoroughly explained our position and our line of practical, hands-on action in Syria, and in particular, bombings, and so forth.”
To the question, did Moscow partners, he said, “I think I got it, Yes.”
Ushakov said that during their meetings, the conversation on the topic of Syria and the regional aspect was very detailed.
“I would like to draw attention to the words of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia that during the negotiations, as he said, Russian friends managed to convince Saudi partners that the main goal of Russia in Syria to combat “Islamic state” first, and terrorism in the second”, — he noted.
