SAMARA, 12 Oct. Automobile plant AVTOVAZ can make the decision on optimization of staff after adoption of the plan production for the next year, which will represent 30 November, said the Chairman of trade Union of the plant, Sergei Zaitsev.
Information about possible cuts at AVTOVAZ appeared on Monday in the Samara mass-media referring to the Deputy of the state Duma and the Deputy Chairman of the Russian engineering Union Vladimir Gutenev. In an interview with a local television station, the MP said that the company in 2016 can reduce from 2.5 to 6 thousand people. As the Deputy noted, this information was voiced by the head of the plant Bo Andersson. In September in Togliatti media also appeared a variety of data about possible cuts at AVTOVAZ.
“I confirm the information on the reductions may not, in the Union such information. No production schedule yet, plan sales for the next year. The President of the conference said that the plan will be prepared by November 30 and submitted to the Board of Directors. There’ll be information about whether optimization of the personnel or not,” he said.
Zaitsev said that in the conversation with the Union President of AVTOVAZ Bo Andersson did not name any figures on reduction of employees, although he asked this question.
Optimization of staff at AVTOVAZ started in February 2014. According to official data, in the beginning of the year AVTOVAZ informed the employment service about mass layoffs in may 1500 workers in June and another 2,500 people. During the year, with the auto giant by agreement of the parties was dismissed about 6 thousand people. The main reason for the layoffs — fall of the car market and lower expenses.
In 2015 JSC “AVTOVAZ” announced the continuation of reductions. So, the company plans to lay off about 1,100 people. Furthermore, a program according to which employees may retire with the consent of the parties. Those willing to leave the company in the period from 10 March to 15 April was paid compensation in the amount of four monthly average wages, from 16 April to 15 may in the amount of three. Workers who resigned before the end of November, will be paid for three salary.
