“Yandex” will be the start page and default search integrated into browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge – on devices running on Windows 10.
MOSCOW, 13 Oct. Microsoft and Russia’s largest Internet company “Yandex” has signed a cooperation agreement involving the Russian preset search engine of the browsers of the American company on the devices running on Windows 10, the report said companies.
The cooperation extends to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkey and several other countries. “Yandex” will be the start page and default search integrated into browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge — on devices running on the Windows platform 10″, — stated in the message.
“Yandex” on a specially created page will inform users in these countries about the benefits of Windows 10 and to demonstrate its capacity and offer to download and install the official version of Windows 10. Also “Yandex” will offer users universal Windows applications to information retrieval, orientation and navigation, music, taxi, maps and product search.
“We remain faithful to the principle of providing such features in Windows 10 that could please anyone in the world. One way to achieve this is the provision of services, taking into account regional specificities. To date, the search for “Yandex” is already integrated in our mobile platform Windows Phone in the markets of these countries. Now we are planning to implement searching of “Yandex” in the entire ecosystem of Windows 10 in this region” — are words in the message Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices division at Microsoft Terry Myerson (Terry Myerson).
Earlier actions of the American company — Google — market pre-installed app stores have become the subject of proceedings by the Federal Antimonopoly service. The FAS ordered the company until November 18 to resolve the violations, expressed, in particular, to prohibit manufacturers of devices based on Android preinstall apps and services of competitors of Google. Companies face fines (1-15% of turnover on the Russian market of pre-installed app stores in 2014). A similar investigation against Google also started the U.S. government.
