Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting with President of Russian Railways urged to continue efforts to reduce costs of infrastructure state monopoly, without departing from the main objectives of the company.
MOSCOW, 14 Oct. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev urged the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov to continue to reduce costs of infrastructure state monopoly, without departing from this main objectives of the company, such as the development of railway transport in the country.
“I understand that the optimization can be continued and can be achieved additional very significant results. Of course, this optimization should not be in conflict with the basic objectives of the company. There is a need to develop, buy vehicles, you are talking about, giving out orders to subcontractors, in fact all industry of the Russian Federation”, — said Medvedev at the meeting with the President of the Russian Railways.
“But the costs, however, high. We know that they can be managed in different ways. Therefore I ask to consider control over the costs of Russian Railways and in the future a key indicator of the company’s activities. Because it affects the development of the whole system,” added the Prime Minister.
