Deputy foreign Minister: Russia is ready to work with all constructive forces to fight ISIS

MOSCOW, October 15. Russia is ready to work with all constructive forces in Syria to combat the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG). This was stated by the Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Alexei Meshkov, answering the question on cooperation with the Kurds.

“We are in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian government and are willing to work with all constructive forces, are ready to jointly fight against IG,” – said Meshkov.

Earlier, Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that in particular, Moscow maintains contacts with the Iraqi Kurds through the Iraqi government. “In regard to Iraq, for example, we have repeatedly said that in cases where the interaction of the Central government of Iraq and the government of Iraqi Kurdistan should be supported in their efforts in the fight against terrorism, we do it with the consent of the Iraqi government, and through him, – said Lavrov. – Development says only one thing: to all who fight terrorism, we need to get together”.
