In the context of preparations for the upcoming 2016 the 25th anniversary of the CIS is planned to approve the draft plan of events dedicated to this event, which provides for implementation of joint projects in economic and humanitarian fields.

MOSCOW, 15 Oct. The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Astana will take part in session of Council of foreign Ministers (CFM) of the CIS.

The Russian foreign Ministry reported earlier that on the agenda 22 questions related to the key activities of the Commonwealth. The foreign Ministers will discuss a number of issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation within the CIS, will exchange opinions on topical problems of regional and international agenda.

“Projects to be considered statements by the heads of States-participants of the CIS on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the fight against international terrorism, as well as treatment of the heads of States-participants of the CIS in connection with the 30th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 2016”,- said the foreign Ministry.

It noted that in the context of preparations for the upcoming 2016 the 25th anniversary of the CIS is planned to approve the draft plan of events dedicated to this event, which provides for implementation of joint projects in economic and humanitarian fields, including scientific conferences and cultural events.

It is expected to consider the draft decisions on granting of the Russian Academy of national economy and public administration under the President of the Russian Federation of the status of basic organization of States-participants of the CIS on training the personnel in public administration, the MFA said.

They reported that the meeting participants will discuss the Russian party initiated the draft agreement on formation of Council of heads of penitentiary services of States-participants of the CIS and the Convention of the States-participants of the CIS on the use of judicial decisions in respect of persons sentenced to punishments not connected with imprisonment.

“Among other priority issues — draft agreement on the procedure of establishment and activities of joint investigative groups in the territories of States-participants of the CIS, decisions on the Head of the antiterrorist center of the States-participants of CIS, as well as the regulations of the competent authorities for the implementation of the interstate wanted list”, — reported the foreign Ministry.

“On approval of heads of foreign policy departments will be presented a draft concept of military cooperation of the States-participants of the CIS up to 2020 and the decision on amending the decision of Council of heads of governments of the CIS on the base organization of the States-participants CIS in the field of air defense, dated 30 may 2012”,- said the foreign Ministry.
