The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the parties specifically discussed the completion of the construction of the highway Western Europe – Western China, and other infrastructure cooperation.

ASTANA, 15 Oct. Kazakhstan and Russia defined a series of measures to mitigate the effects of difficulties in the world economy, said the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

On Thursday, President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kazakhstan with state visit.

“During the negotiations we have identified a set of specific measures to mitigate the impact of the global economic problems. This elaboration of the question of transit through Kazakhstan, including pipelines, the ability to work through us in China, joint development of Caspian fields Tsentralnaya, Khvalynskaya, cooperation in the coal industry, transit on the new road along the Caspian sea to the Persian Gulf”, — said Nazarbayev at a joint meeting with Putin statement to the press.

The parties specifically discussed the completion of the construction of the highway Western Europe — Western China, and other infrastructure cooperation. According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, for the development of further partnerships in these areas there is great potential.

“Given the current difficult situation the main topic of negotiations were the issues of coordinated action in the economy. We have all the tools necessary both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU),” — said the President of Kazakhstan.

According to him, Kazakhstan’s producers have unlimited access to large markets of member countries of the EAEU. “You only need to work on improving the competitiveness of our goods, works and services, to gain a foothold in this market”, — said Nazarbayev.
