MOSCOW, October 15. The Ministers of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the USA Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry expressed appreciation for the work by the military departments of the two countries on the harmonization of security measures in the airspace of Syria in the context of anti-terrorist actions. This was reported in the Russian foreign Ministry on the results of telephone conversation of Ministers, which was held at American initiative.
“The focus was on the situation in Syria, – said the Ministry. – Expressed satisfaction with the work of military departments of Russia and the USA on the harmonization of security measures in the airspace of Syria in the context of anti-terrorist actions”.
As pointed out by the foreign Ministry, Lavrov and Kerry agreed to continue contacts in various aspects of the Syrian settlement in accordance with the Geneva communiqué of 30 June 2012.
“We also considered the progress of the Minsk agreements on settlement of the Ukrainian crisis based on the outcomes of the meeting of leaders “Norman Quartet” in Paris on 2 October,” added the Russian foreign Ministry.
At the meeting in Paris was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and presidents Francois Hollande and Ukraine’s Petro Poroshenko. As previously reported the press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, the talks were “intense” and “business”. He noted that the consultations were discussed the progress of the Minsk agreements (including issues of nuclear proliferation, elections, amnesties), as well as gas-related issues and other crises, including those associated with flights.
