Moscow. October 16. Interest in Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC) other than Schlumberger, but it’s not “Rosneft”, said the head of FAS Igor Artemyev to journalists in the framework of the conference of the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
“Rosneft” – I don’t know anything about this subject, but about foreign companies I know have some interest, and maybe Schlumberger misses (out of the deal),” he said.
Answering the additional question of whether Schlumberger to return to the EDC acquisition, Artemyev said: “of Course, it can.”
To disclose the names of the companies that are now interested in the stake, abandoned by Schlumberger, head of the FAS refused. In addition, he did not specify, whether already filed respective applications for the purchase of the EDC from other applicants.
Schlumberger agreed to repurchase 46% stake in Eurasia Drilling, with the possibility of the consolidation of 100% of the company. The deal became interested in the FAS of Russia. But after studying the documents the service has sent the transaction to the approval of the government Commission on foreign investment. The government Commission agreed to the deal in compliance with Schlumberger to a number of conditions.
In late September, Schlumberger announced its decision not to renew the negotiations on the deal.
