Kadyrov: the Chechen economy depends on European partners


The head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov said that the sanctions had no impact on the economy of Chechnya, all the ongoing projects continue to be implemented.

PYATIGORSK, 15 Oct. Sanctions did not affect the economy of Chechnya, all the ongoing projects continue to be implemented, said Thursday the head of the Republic Ramzan Kadyrov on air of TV channel “Russia-24”.

“We have projects that are dependent on European countries and other States, we have only begun to establish relations with Europe, and it so happened that under the sanctions were Kadyrov”, — said the head of Chechnya.

According to him, all the ongoing projects continue to develop.

“Every day we open a trade and entertainment, sports and shopping centers, everywhere we work — agriculture, industry, develop small and medium business”, — said Kadyrov.

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated in connection with the situation in Ukraine. At the end of July 2014, the EU and the USA from the point of sanctions against certain individuals and companies have moved to measures against entire sectors of the Russian economy. Russia in August 2014 restricted imports of food products from countries that have imposed sanctions against her: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. A ban were meat, sausage, fish and seafood, vegetables, fruits, dairy products. In June 2015, in response to extension of sanctions, Russia has extended food embargo until 5 August 2016.
