Putin: we must change the dependence of the CIS economies on external markets

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted that the combined GDP of the Commonwealth countries in the first half of 2015 have declined, as well as investments in fixed assets.

MOSCOW, 16 Oct. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin in his speech at the meeting of the Council of heads of CIS countries stated that we should devise a set of measures to reduce the dependence of national economies of CIS countries from external markets and think about the revival of business relations, reported on the Kremlin website on Friday.

“The combined GDP of the Commonwealth countries in the first half of 2015 have declined, as well as investments in fixed assets. The trade turnover between our countries has also fallen. In this situation, consider a set of measures to reduce the dependence of national economies on external markets and think about the revival of business ties within the CIS”, — said the Russian President.
