The Russian General staff: Turkey over downed drone does not belong to the Russian Federation


MOSCOW, October 16. All Russian drones involved in the operation in Syria, are either on the job or at the air base and allegedly shot down over Turkey the machine to the Russian Federation is not related, said chief of the main operations Directorate of the General staff of the Russian armed forces Colonel-General Andrey Kartapolov.

As explained Kartapolov at a briefing for military attach├ęs and journalists, in the Internet appeared the information that the Turkish partners was allegedly shot down Russian drone, which was located over the territory of Turkey.

“I absolutely responsibly declare that all our drones are located either in areas of performance of tasks, either at the airbase,” said Kartapolov.

According to him, he specifically said this information before the briefing.

“But whose is it, this downed drone, or guess, or find out yourself,” suggested the chief of a Central Board.

Earlier Friday, the Turkish General staff said that Turkish air force had shot down an unidentified drone that violated the country’s airspace. In the Russian defense Ministry said that all Russian airplanes operating in Syria, returned to the base, and the drones are functioning as planned.
