The state Duma intends to appeal to UN over blockade of the Crimea

MOSCOW, October 16. The state Duma intends to appeal to the UN General Assembly with call to end the blockade of the Crimea.

The corresponding draft statement tabled in the house by its Committee on international Affairs.

In particular, the MPs plan to appeal “to the UN General Assembly, parliaments of member States of the UN and international parliamentary organization on the necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo of the Republic of Crimea”.

According to the materials of the Duma’s electronic database, the project of resolution on adoption of this treatment could be considered at a meeting of the chamber on October 23.

Blockade Of The Crimea

September 20, supporters of the former Vice-Premier of Crimea Lenur Islyamov, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada Mustafa Dzhemilev and Refat Chubarov have started the so-called food blockade of the Crimea, restricting a pass of truckloads of goods through the border checkpoints. They also joined members of the extremist group “Right sector” prohibited in Russia.

The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov compared announced by the Ukrainian blockade of the Peninsula with a Comedy film, because the goods from a neighboring state, is in the Russian region of not more than five percent of the market.
