The state Duma will consider a combination of uniform day of voting to the Duma elections


MOSCOW, October 16. The state Duma will consider in the second, mainly reading the draft law on the reconciliation of the single day of voting with the Federal parliamentary elections on the third Sunday of September starting from 2016.

The bill was introduced by the lower house in June, state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin and the leaders of the three parliamentary factions Vladimir Vasilyev (United Russia), Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR) and Sergey Mironov (“Fair Russia”). The instrument was proposed simultaneously with the initiative to transfer the Duma elections on December 3rd Sunday of September, which the deputies adopted in the end of the spring session.

“All elections (including local government), coinciding with the elections of the state Duma, will be held on the third Sunday of September. All the rest – on the second Sunday of September,” confirmed the head of profile state Duma Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Vladimir Pligin (United Russia).

The chamber also intends to solve a number of personnel issues with the vacancies formed in particular as a result of the transition to the Federation Council of heads of committees on family and health Elena Mizulina (“Fair Russia”) and Sergei Kalashnikov (LDPR). In their place the fractions nominations Olga Epifanova (CP) and Sergei Furgal (LDPR).
