MOSCOW, October 19. “Aeroflot” will not become the monopoly player in the aviation market after the bankruptcy of “Transaero”. This opinion was expressed in an interview with the head of the presidential administration of Russia Sergei Ivanov.
“Monopoly is not. Even if “Aeroflot” “Transaero” on balance, as planned, its share in the market increased from 48% to 52%. But the deal fell through. Now the government is working on other options,” said Ivanov.
In his opinion, “in “Transaero” are largely to blame: was mistaken with the business strategy, gained currency in aircraft leasing, the ruble has changed, and here came”.
“We have long supported the “Transaero” as the national carrier. Today, it is important to not hurt the passengers and, of course, employees – pilots, flight attendants, ground staff,” said head of the presidential administration.
In General, according to Ivanov, the consolidation of companies is a worldwide practice. As examples, he cited the Dutch airline KLM, now part of Air France, SAS Scandinavian, which joined Lufthansa, Iberia, which “did not survive the previous crisis.”
