Sberbank filed a lawsuit on the recognition of “Transaero” bankrupt


MOSCOW, October 19. Sberbank filed a lawsuit in the arbitration court of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region about bankruptcy of airline “Transaero”.

The lawsuit was registered on October 16, according to the website of the arbitration court.

Earlier, transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said that Sberbank is ready to take on the work yourself nearly 1 thousand of staff of “Transaero” in case of its bankruptcy. “The Bank also offered their vacancies, the order of thousands of positions for employees of the company “Transaero”, – said the Minister in an interview with TV channel “Russia 24”.

The company “Transaero” has no prospects and can not exist with its existing debt burden, said on 3 October, the head of Sberbank German Gref.

“What we unfortunately see now, the company has no prospects. Huge debt and the company operationally loss making for three consecutive years. It turned out now, in the course of its verification activities. And clearly, with this debt the company can not live, and I don’t think all lenders will be ready to go to invest their commitment in its authorized capital”, – said Gref.

According to the head of Sberbank, the Bank is not willing to exchange the debt Transaero’s share in the authorized capital of the company. Debt “Transaero” to Sberbank is not secured by state guarantees, also said Gref. According to him, the Bank hopes to repay financial debt “Transaero” at 6 billion roubles.

Sberbank is looking for the company to transfer the lease of the aircraft, also said Gref.

Salvation airlines is impossible

On 9 October the head of VTB Andrey Kostin said that the salvation of the airline impossible.

“The debt is very large, and the government does not consider it necessary to save him and, in my opinion, makes it justified”, – said Kostin, adding that in Russia there is surplus equipment and opportunities for transportation. “So it seems to us, the faster this issue will be resolved, the better,” he said.

However, Kostin recalled that VTB has not yet submitted the claim about bankruptcy “Transaero” intends to continue a flexible policy of the company that the obligations of the airline to passengers were implemented in full.

The airline’s total debt is about 250 billion rubles. Among the major creditors was called Sberbank, VTB, VEB, Gazprombank and others.
