Militia proclaimed Luhansk national Republic (LNR) Sergey Moiseyev has told the trial of former Ukrainian army Hope Savchenko, said she had been released from captivity by order of Igor Plotnitsky. He was the commander of the battalion “dawn”, and now is the head LNR, reports Corr. from a court hall.
According to Moses, Savchenko was captured on 17 June 2014 his co-workers with call Snipe and Rod. He heard her called himself a spotter of fire. Together with other prisoners of war were taken to the premises of the battalion “Zarya”.
“Carpenter, who was at that time the commander of the battalion, on June 23, said to take her away and let go. Perhaps it was because Savchenko was one woman among about seven prisoners. I put her in the car and drove to the Northern locality (Luhansk region), where he let go, giving her the phone. I drove her so that she did not see our positions and said that she did not return back”, – said Moiseev.
Later, according to the prosecution, Savchenko illegally crossed the Ukrainian-Russian border and was detained in the Voronezh region.
On Monday in Donetsk city court continues hearings on the case of Savchenko, which began on 22 September.
According to the investigation, as an officer of the armed forces of Ukraine, while the location of a paramilitary battalion “Aydar” on June 17, 2014 near the village of Metallist, Slavyanoserbsk district, Luhansk region, Savchenko was conducting secret surveillance and correction of shelling the checkpoint of the militia LNR with him were civilians, including three citizens of the Russian Federation – correspondents VGTRK. In the shelling of journalists Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin were killed.
