Moscow. October 20. Costs Americans during the winter holidays will be this year an average of $805,65 per person compared to $802,45 a year earlier, according to a survey by the National retail Federation (National Retail Federation, NRF) of the United States.
Thus, costs will be highest for the 14 years history of conducting similar studies, notes MarketWatch. The indicator takes into account the total cost of food purchases, gifts, jewelry and other things.
On purchasing gifts this season, each American, on average, planning to spend $462,95 against $458,75 last year. Moreover, almost 59% of respondents would prefer to receive a gift card, this gift takes the leading position for the ninth year in a row.
The proportion of people who plan to buy goods for the Christmas holidays on the Internet has increased to 46% compared with 44.4 per cent in 2014.
More than half of the respondents (nearly 56%) will make purchases for themselves and spend on it an average of $131,59 against $126,37 last year.
In addition, the results of the study showed that over 73% of Americans believe discounts the most important factor when choosing a product, slightly less than 61% called the fundamental quality of products.
