FADN: in the fight against ISIS need to bet on the Islamic clergy

MOSCOW, October 20. In the fight against terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG) is required to bet on the Islamic clergy. Such opinion in conversation with correspondent. was expressed by the head of Federal Agency on Affairs of nationalities (FADN) Igor Barinov.

In his opinion, it is necessary to create alternative centres of attraction for youth. “We must rely on the Islamic clergy. Not only to bet, and to help him,” said the official.

“Mentors need to be competitive in a dispute over the minds of youth with the preachers of radical Islam. They must speak a modern language, they must clearly break all the arguments that lead radicals, the extremists. Which, unfortunately, at the moment no,” – said the Agency interlocutor.

He also said that now the absolute majority, based on an analysis of who joined ISIS people had been recruited not personally, but via the Internet. “We need to build a firm policy with regard to network resources that are concerned with the recruitment,” said Barinov. He added, however, that “simple recipes for opposing is now no one”.
