FAS fined “MegaFon” for 400 thousand rubles for the advertising of smartphone MegaFon Login+


MOSCOW, October 20. The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) has fined “the Megaphone” on 400 thousand rubles for the advertising of smartphone MegaFon Login+. This is stated in the message Department.

Earlier, on 24 September, the FAS recognised the company guilty of violating the law “On advertising” in relation to smartphone MegaFon Login+ and started preparing documents for a case in which was to be determined by the amount of the fine.

In August the Federal Antimonopoly service received a complaint of CJSC “Sibintertelecom” (100% owned by MTS) with a complaint about the advertising of smartphone MegaFon Login+. This advertisement was disseminated in February / March 2015 on air of Federal TV channels “Ren TV”, “TV3”, “TNT” and “STS”. In her audio message and large readable text, it was mentioned that the device can be purchased in the salons of communication “MegaFon” for the price of 4 thousand 990 rubles. At the same time, in the bottom of the screen text indicated other conditions under which it is possible to make such a purchase.

According to FAS, this information was posted by the way, hindering its perception (the fine print, the length is only 4-5 seconds), which indicates bad faith advertising. Thus, the Department has seen in advertising of phone MegaFon Login+ to a violation of the Federal law “On advertising”.

Earlier the FAS Russia has already imposed on MegaFon fined two hundred thousand each for improper advertising tariff “Switch to zero” and “MegaFon All inclusive S”.
