Gazprom and Japan’s Mitsui discussed the extension of the project “Sakhalin-2”


Chairman of the Board “Gazprom” Alexey Miller and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mitsui Masami Iijima discussed the construction of the third line in the framework of the project “Sakhalin-2”.

MOSCOW, 20 Oct. “Gazprom” and Japanese company Mitsui have discussed the issue of construction of the third technological line in the framework of the extension of the project “Sakhalin-2”, the report said “Gazprom”.

Prospects of cooperation were discussed during a working meeting of the Chairman of Board “Gazprom” Alexey Miller and the President of the Board of Directors of Mitsui Masami Iijima.

“Sakhalin-2” (Gazprom — 50% plus one share, Shell — 27.5 per cent minus one share, Mitsui — 12,5%, Mitsubishi — 10%) — the project to develop the Piltun-Astokhskoye and Lunskoye fields offshore Sakhalin island, it operates Russia’s only LNG plant.

Japanese company Mitsui & Co., Ltd (Mitsui) is engaged in the development, sales, distribution and processing of all types of energy products in Japan and abroad, as well as financial activities.
