“MegaFon” will reset the cost of calls within the network in anticipation of the release of Tele2 in Moscow

Moscow. October 20. PJSC “MegaFon” 2 November will adjust the whole range of packet rates. In most of tariff plans for on-net calls will be free across all Russia and not only in the home region, as it is now.

Packages with a limited number of minutes with zero cost will be only for calls to other operators in the home region, have informed in a press-service of the operator.

Currently the bundles in the line of “Megaphone” include voice services in the home region, both within the network and for calls to numbers of other operators.

The cost of calls on numbers of other operators outside the home region and the sms packages will remain the same, noted in “the Megaphone”.

In addition, some tariffs “the Megaphone” will increase the amount of the included traffic – from 0.5 MB to 1.5 GB and from 4 GB to 5 GB.

Changes in packet rates, which, but data operator, uses 25% of subscribers, are designed to encourage the consumption of voice traffic.

“MegaFon” reduces the cost of voice services on the eve of the Moscow region operator Tele2. It will start to provide services in the capital region on October 22 and has not released its pricing range. It is obvious that Tele2 will make a bid for smartphone users – the company has no GSM frequencies in Moscow region, and owners of “push-button” phones will not be able to become subscribers.

On the stage set of the subscriber base of the capital of the new player will mostly make calls to operators “the big three”, which Tele should pay for interconnect. Tele2 will be deprived of the benefits of large subscriber base, allowing customers mostly free of charge to communicate within the network. However, Tele2 promises to adhere to in Moscow to its traditional policy of discounter.
