Russia and China advocate the coordination of efforts of the international community to confront ISIS

MOSCOW, October 20. Moscow and Beijing are coordinating the efforts of the international community to confront ISIS, other terrorist groups. As have informed in the Russian foreign Ministry, this was announced at a Russian-Chinese consultations on middle East issues.

“The special envoy of China on Middle East Saosin the gun was adopted by the special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. Consultations were also held with the special envoy of the Minister for middle East settlement, Director of the Department of Middle East and North Africa of the Russian foreign Ministry Sergei Vershinin”, – have informed in the Ministry.

According to the foreign Ministry, discussed the most topical issues in the context of the situation in the middle East and North Africa. “Special attention was paid to the situation on the Palestinian-Israeli track and the development of the situation in Syria and around it. Stressed the need for coordination of efforts of the international community to combat the terrorist threat posed by “Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant” and other extremist groups,” – said the Russian foreign Ministry.


“Islamic state” (ISIS) – an Islamist terrorist organization operating inside Iraq and Syria. Established on 15 October 2006 by the merger of 11 radical Sunni groups. The core group forming the militants, who fought with American troops during their stay in Iraq and with the forces of the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

The IG recognized as a terrorist organization in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, UAE, India, Indonesia, and Russia (29 December 2014).
