MOSCOW, 20 Oct. Association of air transport operators (air transport operators Association) appealed to the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation with a proposal to transfer part of the functions of the Agency, in particular, the allocation of frequencies to international destinations, said a source in the aviation industry.

As reported at the forum “Wings of Russia” Deputy Minister of transport Valery Okulov, Russian air transport operators Association can get some controller function. “We are interested to increase the authority and importance of the Russian air transport operators Association. I propose to study the mechanism of self-regulating organizations. Together we will define which functions of the regulator to transfer the Russian air transport operators Association, to increase the powers of Association”, — he said, without specifying what specific functions involved.

A source in the aviation circles said that it is about the proposal of the President of Russian air transport operators Association Vladimir Tazuna to convey to the Association the functions of the interdepartmental Commission for allocation of frequencies on international routes at the transportation Ministry.

“At the moment, the Association of international road carriers (ASMAP) itself, without the participation of state agencies allocates frequencies on international road transport among carriers. This example can go and the Association of airline companies”, — said the source.

Russian air transport operators Association was founded as an organization of aviation enterprises and civil aviation of the USSR in 1991. At the moment its members are the 19 largest carriers of Russia.
