ALROSA revenue from diamond sales for the first 9 months fell by 27%

MOSCOW, 21 Oct.Prime. Revenue from sales of diamonds ALROSA in January-September 2015, according to preliminary data, amounted to not less than 2.7 billion dollars, the volume of diamond sales of 23 million carats, according to the company.

Thus, the revenue of diamond digger decreased by 27% and sales — by 20% compared to the same period in 2014. Then the company reported that its revenue was 3.7 billion dollars sale of diamonds for 28.8 million carats.

Diamond sales in the third quarter of this year amounted to 4.9 million carats, 3 million carats of gem-quality diamonds at an average price of 182 dollars per carat, and 1.9 million carats of technical quality at an average price of $ 9 per carat. The expected revenue from diamond sales in July-September exceeded $ 550 million, the report said.

The company notes that in accordance with the market conditions in the third quarter, it has reduced the price of gem quality diamonds by 8%. In the second quarter, the price of diamonds of the group ALROSA went down 3% and overall since the beginning of 2015 — by 6% due to falling activity in the diamond market.
