Roscomnadzor is ready to help Internet pirates “move to the side of light”

MOSCOW, October 21. Roscomnadzor is ready to help the pirates to start to work legally. This was stated by the head of Department, Alexander Zharov, speaking at the forum Russian Interactive Week 2015.

“Where the pirate wants to jump on the side of the world, we strongly contribute to this”, he said.

In addition, he recalled that in the last days Roskomnadzor blocked more than 10 torrents and sharing services. The Department continues to work to protect intellectual property on the Internet. Zharov, however, is confident that the negotiations with Internet piracy will lead to a positive result.

“We have the confidence that this dialogue will end positively,” he said.

The growth of business spending on information security in 2016

Roskomnadzor expects the increase of Russian business on information security in 2016 by 35%, said Zharov.
“In Russia this figure is approximately 35%. This suggests that our information society is developing actively, progressively, quickly,” he said.
Overall, the growth of global spending on information security will be at 40%, I’m sure Zharov. A similar level of growth will show and the number of attacks, he added.
