MOSCOW, October 21. The Russian Federation expects that Egypt will begin negotiations on supplies of Russian equipment and helicopters for the Mistral warships. Moscow is ready to supply the necessary amount of equipment. This was stated by Russian presidential aide for military-technical cooperation Vladimir Kozhin.
On the question of how much Moscow is ready to supply helicopters for “Mistral”, a Kremlin spokesman said, “as much as necessary to accommodate these ships.”
Kozhin said that the negotiations can start after Egypt will finalize the contract for the purchase of helicopter carriers from France. “The Russian side is ready to negotiate, so it depends on them (Egypt), if they are interested, we are ready. I think that they are an interested party because there is a lot of work was done under our equipment,” said assistant to the President.
“I think that is a high probability that it will take place, but this, again, depends on the Egyptian side,” said Kozhin.
Earlier, the head of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Ivanov announced that the total volume of transactions to supply Egypt with equipment and helicopters for the purchase from France of the “Mistral” may exceed $1 billion.
