Shuvalov promised “soft” solution to the situation with Transaero airlines

Moscow. October 21. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov is confident that the government will “gently” to resolve the situation with Transaero airlines, in line with previous decisions, not allowing difficulties with the transportation of passengers.

“This project is very complex (the question of “Transaero). The government works for several months so that the situation gently allow to avoid any difficult situations with the transportation of passengers,” he said, speaking during government hour in the state Duma.

“It appears that we are still able, and I am sure that we have this situation in full and decide the way the decision was made in the government”, – said the first Deputy Prime Minister.

Transaero has gained about 250 billion rubles of debt and excess fleet in September was in the verge of bankruptcy, forcing the state to look for options to save her.

It was assumed that 75% plus 1 share of the company will be sold to Aeroflot for 1 ruble, but shareholders “Transaero” were not able to consolidate the required stake. As a result “Aeroflot” has refused the offer, and statements of relevant officials boil down to the fact that the option of bankruptcy of the airline seems to be the only one possible.

However, on Tuesday evening it became known about sale by Pleshakov Alexander controlling stake in Transaero airlines to co-owner of S7 airlines Vladislav Fileva.

After that Minister of transport Maxim Sokolov said that the certificate of the operator “Transaero” will be cancelled from October 26.
