MOSCOW, 21 Oct. The state Duma on Wednesday passed in first reading a bill that restricts “Golden parachutes” for regional officials, including governors.

The document was submitted to the state Duma on 1 April the representatives of the popular front, the state Duma deputies Mikhail Starshinov and Andrew Krasivym.

“The bill provides for the restriction of payment of “Golden parachutes” to those replaces Steve elected positions of subjects of the Russian Federation, higher officials of subjects of the Russian Federation”, — said at a meeting of the state Duma Krasov. The amendments restrict “Golden parachutes” for regional officials and deputies in case of their dismissal or the non-election for another term.

Additional social guarantees in connection with the termination of the authority will be able to get only those officials who have either reached retirement age or unable to work during the work, said Krasov.

“We propose to prohibit the issue of “Golden parachutes” officials and deputies whose powers were terminated due to failure to observe the prohibitions, restrictions and obligations provided by the legislation of the Russian Federation. Will not receive additional payments and those employees who just quit on their own or MPs who were not re-elected”, he added.

Earlier, the elders noted that in many cases substantial “Golden parachutes” given to officials and deputies, even in subsidized regions. In his opinion, it is incorrect to pay such compensation, particularly in the event of non-election as a candidate. He believes that the adoption of the law “will stop this blatant practice”, “will help to bring these payments into line with the current economic situation in the country and attentive to the expenditure of budgetary funds”.
