MAYOR: Russia wants to recover the increasing trend in trade with Germany


First Deputy Minister of economic development Alexei Likhachev said that following the results of January-August 2015 the trade turnover between Russia and Germany decreased by about 34-36%, and this trend is flowing in nature.

MOSCOW, 22 Oct. Russia would do everything possible to recover the increasing trend in trade and economic relations with Germany, said the first Deputy Minister of economic development Alexey Likhachev.

He noted that following the results of January-August of the current year the trade turnover between Russia and Germany decreased by about 34-36%, and this trend is flowing in nature. In this case a bit different is the situation with imports and exports. The Russian Federation, according to the speaker, increasing the volume of non-oil exports, while growing exports in terms of value — engineering, high-tech products.

“Against this background, lost 9.2 billion dollars of imports from Germany to Russia, and this profit shortfall of German companies. For us where a loss of about 6 billion in the sector mashinobuduvannya and 1.7 billion dollars in the sector of chemical products,” he said, speaking at the opening of “Russian-German business platform”.

“This is important … And we certainly want to do everything to this increasing trend in our trade recovered… over the past years, Germany was our number one partner,” — said Likhachev.

The same decline is observed this year and for the services sector and 27% in the first half. He stressed that the government of the Russian Federation, the MAYOR and the business intend to do everything to return to the circles of relationships. “We are optimistic we speak today, the German partners about what we see first, maybe not quite bold, but clear signs of recovery of the Russian economy. We believe that the peak of the crisis passed and have the opportunity to expand their production capacity, investments”, — said the first Deputy MAYOR.

However, he said that was recorded a certain growth of direct investments from Germany during the first quarter of 2015, the Russian economy has received about 585 million dollars with an increase of 100 percent compared to the same period in 2014.
