Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russian companies are interested in participating in projects that will be implemented in Iran.
Tehran, 22 Oct. Russia and Iran have agreed until the end of 2015 to sign binding documents for the project of electrification railway line in Iran, said Minister of energy Alexander Novak following the results of Russian-Iranian bilateral negotiations.
Russian Railways in October 2012 completed the first project in Iran, which has been electrified line Tabriz-Azarshahr length of about 46 kilometers and five stations. The contracts of Russian Railways and railway electrification in Iran was estimated to be worth about 8.4 billion euros and concerned 5,6 thousand km of Railways.
“Russian companies are interested in participating in projects that will be implemented in Iran. Including the projects related to the development of the railway infrastructure, sea ports, associated with the supply of marine and automotive engineering, special purpose equipment and so on,” said Novak.
“In most developed — electrification of Railways. Today we discussed the technical aspects of readiness for the implementation of this project, as well as funding opportunities for these projects and mechanisms that would allow us to proceed with the implementation of projects…. We agreed that the first project for the electrification of the railway line — we this year have to sign a direct binding instruments that would allow to start the implementation of projects,” he added.
