Ryabkov: relations Argentina and Russia are experiencing the best moment in its history

BUENOS AIRES, October 22. /Corr. Elena Kondratieva/. Relations between Russia and Argentina is currently experiencing the most productive period in its history. This was stated on Wednesday in an interview with correspondent. Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov, on a visit to Argentina.

“The relationship in great shape. Probably, now we are going through the best period from the point of view of performance and positive attitude,” he said.

According to Ryabkov, contacts between countries are developing in all areas. “In the political dialogue of our positions are close, and we are working on a very broad common agenda, – said the Deputy Minister. – In the sphere of economy and investments we are on the threshold of implementing very large projects, particularly in the nuclear and power engineering”.

According to the Deputy head of the Russian foreign Ministry, countries have a joint cultural projects: leading tours of creative collectives, exhibitions, cross-cultural days and various festivals.

In addition, as noted Ryabkov, Argentina and Russia together are making “efforts to reform the international financial system”. “All the common elements of the agenda that constitute a comprehensive strategic partnership,” he said.

In April of this year during the visit of Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to Russia, the heads of state signed a joint statement on the establishment between the countries ‘ comprehensive strategic partnership. In addition, the country has signed about 20 agreements on cooperation in various fields. In particular, Rosatom and Ministry of Federal planning, public investment and services of Argentina signed a Memorandum on cooperation in nuclear power plant construction on the territory of the South American country.

This year Russia and Argentina celebrate the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The official date of their establishment is considered to be October 22, 1885, when the foreign Ministry of the Russian Empire has appointed Alexander Ionin – traveler, writer, who travelled almost all of South America – Ambassador to Argentina.
