The government will discuss increasing the retirement age of civil servants


The bill foresees a gradual increase of the minimum seniority in the civil service of eligibility for superannuation. Also provides for an increase to 65 years the limit of the “working age” officials.

MOSCOW, 22 Oct. The government of the Russian Federation at session on Thursday will discuss a bill to increase the retirement age of civil servants, said the press service of the Cabinet.

The bill envisages a gradual increase of the minimum seniority of civil service, entitled to pension, and the increase from 60 to 65 years the age limit of stay on civil service.

As specified, when this transition period is provided to increase the age of eligibility for the granting and payment of pension insurance, every year for six months to 65 years. In addition, up to 65 years of age increases the age limit of stay on civil service.

The bill also provides for an increase in the minimum duration of the powers of the Deputy of the state Duma and the Federation Council member to be eligible for the Supplement to insurance old-age pension in the amount 55% from one year to five years, and the increase of the term of office necessary to receive payments at a higher rate — 75%, with “over 3 years” to “over 10 years”.

Previously this bill was approved by the Commission on legislative activities of the government.
