MOSCOW, October 22. The new national security Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2020 should exclude the closed nature of the country from the outside world, confident in the security Council of the Russian Federation. The document will be submitted for consideration of the head of state before the end of the year.
As reported in the press service of the Council, the draft of the new Strategy of national safety of the Russian Federation was discussed at the meeting of the interdepartmental Commission of the security Council on strategic planning. “The participants of the meeting have excluded the secrecy of the country from the outside world, noting that an active foreign policy, development cooperation with other countries, attract foreign investment and technology must complement their own efforts to modernize the economy and strengthen national security of the Russian Federation”, – said the press service.
Speaking at the meeting, security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev recalled the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to revise the national security Strategy, ensuring the continuity of state policy in the sphere of national security and national interests and national strategic priorities.
“Discussing the draft Strategy, the members of the interdepartmental Commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation stressed the need for the most efficient use of internal resources of Russia – economic, political, human, cultural and spiritual potential, – noted in press service. – A change in Strategy emanates from the fundamental interconnection and interdependence of national security and socio-economic development of Russia”.
Also the instrument must consolidate the efforts of authorities and civil society institutions to create a favorable internal and external conditions for the implementation of national priorities and efforts to counteract new threats to Russian national interests.
In the preparation of the draft Strategy has involved Federal Executive authorities, representatives of the scientific community and to the staff of the Russian Security Council. Correction of documents of strategic planning should be conducted every 6 years after their adoption. The current national security Strategy of the Russian Federation was approved In 2009.
