On Friday, the representatives of Ukraine and Russia held technical consultations on the question of air links. After the meeting, the Ukrainian side said that Kiev’s decision to suspend the flights remains in force.
KYIV, 23 Oct. Ukrainian Minister of infrastructure Andriy Pivovarsky announced the cancellation of sanctions against Russian airlines: they have to abandon the flights to Crimea and to pay a fine.
“Russian airlines that violate Ukrainian law and fly in the illegally annexed Crimea, will not be able to fly to other cities of Ukraine. And will have this opportunity only if you give up the flights in the Crimea, paid a fine, and in this case, the NSDC (national security Council and defence of Ukraine — ed.) will consider removing such companies from the sanctions list,” he said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
The representatives of Ukraine and Russia on Thursday held a technical consultation in Brussels on the issue of air links, consultations will continue, but the decision of Kiev to suspend the air service remains in force, brewer said Friday in Brussels.
Ukraine earlier reported that completely stops air communication with the Russian Federation since 25 October. In response, Russia took the mirror measures in relation to Ukrainian airlines.
