BERLIN, October 23. The air traffic between Ukraine and Russia will be stopped from October 25, in spite of the negotiations. This was announced at a panel discussion on the Ukrainian-German forum of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine Andrey Pivovarsky.
“But despite these consultations, since October 25, the sanctions will come into force fully. Therefore, from October 25 flights from the Russian cities”, – he said.
Brewer noted that on Friday at the headquarters of the European Commission held technical consultations between the air services of Ukraine and the Russian Federation. “I think these consultations will continue,” the Minister added.
“We need to establish the status quo”
Earlier, transport Minister Maxim Sokolov reported that the first round of negotiations on air traffic between Russia and Ukraine will take place on 24 October in Brussels.
“Yesterday I had telephone talks with his counterpart, Minister of infrastructure (of Ukraine – ed.) Andrei Pivovarsky, and we agreed that the first round of talks will be held tomorrow in Brussels, we are there delegated to the heads of its aviation services,” said Sokolov.
“At the end of these negotiations, let’s see if we can come to those agreements that will not terminate air service”, – he said.
Minister of transport stressed the need to restore the status quo in this area. “We need to establish the status quo, when we had full liberalization of air traffic with Ukraine, and our Ukrainian company in accordance with their financial and organizational resources, shared in a competitive environment the transportation market,” said Sokolov.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine does not comment on the impending negotiations on the flights of the Ukrainian and Russian delegations on 24 October in Brussels, reported the press Secretary of Department Irina Kustovskyj.
“While we can neither confirm nor deny this information. As soon as we have them, we will officially publish”, – she said.

Earlier, the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation welcomed the request of the Ukrainian airlines to allow flights in the winter season.
“We welcome any steps in the right direction, if we are talking about providing transportation. It all depends on the position of the Ukrainian aviation authorities”, – said the head of Ministry of transport Maxim Sokolov on the TV channel “Russia 24”. According to him, the main thing that had saved the current share of Russia and Ukraine in the total volume of air traffic between the two countries. “If this ratio continues, we are always ready to take a step forward”, he added.
